If you or a loved one has experienced Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), we don’t have to tell you how much pain it can cause. The nightmares… flashbacks… brain fog… the list can go on and on.

And maybe you’ve tried many ways to treat your PTSD, like medication after medication, therapy after therapy. Yet, despite all of it, the trauma still haunts you; it can feel like you’re stuck inside your head with no way out.

But don’t give up… there is hope.

Our BrainCare Performance Center team has worked with hundreds of people suffering from PTSD, so we know how tough it can be to live with this condition. We also know that conventional treatment doesn’t always provide the relief you desperately need.

That’s why we offer something new and, frankly, revolutionary. It’s called MeRT or Magnetic e-Resonance Therapy. It’s not about taking another drug; it’s about looking at your brain function to see what may be causing the PTSD and then correcting it.

So, if you ever thought your PTSD was something you just had to live with, think again. We’re here to help.

Could You Be Suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder?
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) affects people when they’ve experienced or witnessed something frightening or life-threatening. This could be anything from a car accident, natural disaster, or military combat to physical or emotional abuse. When someone has PTSD, they may feel trapped by their memories of the event, and it can be hard to move on with life.

PTSD can happen to anyone at any age. And having PTSD doesn’t mean you’re flawed or weak.
Common symptoms include:

Flashbacks or nightmares about the event
Feeling anxious or jumpy all the time
Avoiding places or people that remind you of what happened
Having trouble sleeping
Feeling depressed or hopeless
Being easily angered or irritated

While PTSD may improve with medication and therapy, 20-50% of all patients don’t respond to conventional treatments. Yet, MeRT has shown some remarkable results.

Non-Invasive and Drug-Free: The MeRT Approach to PTSD Treatment
MeRT is an emerging treatment protocol that combines three procedures:

1. Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS, an FDA-cleared therapy),
2. Quantitative Electroencephalogram (qEEG), also called “brain mapping,” and
3. Electrocardiogram (ECG/EKG).

The EEG is key to the success of the MeRT treatment. Here’s why:

Patients with PTSD have specific markers that are visible in their EEG studies, showing an imbalance in brainwave activity. Once we see the exact imbalance, we can strengthen the brainwave activity through a highly personalized TMS treatment plan. This can result in a significant reduction in PTSD symptoms.

Plus, many people who experience post-traumatic stress also suffer from depression or anxiety, or both. MeRT can address those conditions as well.

“It was absolutely terrifying not to know what was wrong with me or how to fix the problem. BTC not only identified the deteriorated state of my brainwave activity, but they also restored its function… I consider the healing I experienced at Brain Treatment Center to be nothing short of a miracle.”

How We Treat PTSD with MeRT

Treatment is straightforward. We start with a thorough evaluation, then a consultation, followed by a tailored treatment plan. During your first appointment, we perform a qEEG to map your brainwaves and identify dysfunctional areas. We also perform an EKG to compare with your qEEG and measure brain-heart coherence. At your second appointment, your doctor reviews your test results with you and discusses your treatment plan. If you decide to move forward, we schedule your TMS sessions. During each session, you sit in a chair while a trained technician delivers magnetic impulses to the targeted area. There’s no pain involved, but you may feel a slight tapping at the treatment site. After every two weeks of treatment, we perform another qEEG and EKG to see how your brain responds. If your symptoms and brainwave patterns improve, we book additional treatments at two-week intervals. We understand that MeRT is a relatively new treatment, and you may have many questions. Just reach out to us. Our experts can answer all your questions and let you know if MeRT may be the treatment that you’ve been looking for.
